Upgrades 2. Exhaust Guard
I'm on the fence about this one, but eventually the exhaust will look all burnt and horrible, unless it is cerokoted, which I'm not going to do just yet. It also is super hot to touch after a drive. I have youngish kids, I wear shorts a lot and I still get nervous with the kids around it after a drive, so I've decided to go with a black exhaust guard to start with to stop the burns, and to see if it also looks OK with the red, black and white scheme I have going on!
Installation was as simple as the collector guard, To keep in sync with that I also decided to put a line of heavy duty trim along the front edge to keep it legal so to speak (in terms of the IVA). I don't mind the look with this trim on and actually think the car can look all too "metally" without these things on, so I'll run with it for now and see how I feel down the line.
It took a bit of exacting to get it just where I wanted it, and to also hide the jubilee connectors but once i'd finished the installation, I was quite happy with the final result. It certainly goes with all the red, black and white that I have going on, and will certainly look nicer than the burnt exhaust look after a few hours of driving.
After driving 500 miles with it, I can say that it makes getting in and out of the car much easier (as you don't worry about burning yourself!), and I actually do prefer the look of it with my red black and white colour scheme
